Wedding Dessert Ideas for every Sweet Tooth

We all love weddings, right? The love, the romance, the friends and family reunions, the aesthetics, the dance floor, and most importantly, the FOOD. More specifically, the dessert food that is served. I know what you’re thinking right now…cake, right? Am I a mind reader? No. However, a traditional wedding cake is, well, tradition. A dessert that we always see and love at weddings, which I adore, BUT gone are the days of one dessert fits all, so, let’s get creative! Below are the hottest, or should I say, sweetest dessert trends of the season.

INDIVIDUAL MINI WEDDING CAKES

In 2020, we all adjusted to a new way of life, and, because of that, we also became more aware of how safe it is to have individualized and personal food portions. Wedding season is following suit, with seated, plated dining and dessert menus. It’s fewer potential germs and tiny cakes are super cute!

MIXED SWEETS

Let’s say, you do want a traditional wedding cake, but you also want it to be unique and feature a dessert you and your partner love, like, chocolate chip cookies, macaroons, or giant fudge pieces! Luckily, you can have both. Many bakers are happy to create multiple levels with different sweets. One layer cake, one-layer macaroons, and one layer chocolate chip cookies! Don’t worry about it looking like a kids-only dessert. A multi-level dessert can look quite elegant and even a little enchanting!

CAKE POPS

Cake pops are so cute, and you could probably hold them as you dance! Sounds silly, but weddings are all about having fun, so who wouldn’t want a dessert they can take on the go. Plus, they can come in many different flavors. A dessert that has variety and mobility? I’ll take three!

DONUT WALL

This is a trend that will be thriving for a while. How could it not, it’s so cool! It embodies everything that is sugar and spice and everything nice. It’s also a dessert that adults and children alike will enjoy. Your fingers may get a little sticky, but that’s worth it!

ICE CREAM BAR

Weddings often happen during the warmer months, so what better way to cool down than with an ice cream bar? You can pick the cone, the flavors, the number of scoops, and the toppings. Also, it kind of feels like an art project, which is super fun. I can be creative and eat delicious dessert? In that case, I’ll take a scoop of chocolate with extra rainbow sprinkles, please!

These dessert ideas are fantastic at weddings and barely scratch the surface for sweet treats!
