Creative & Unique Guest Book Ideas for a Memorable Wedding Day
Looking at your guest book after your wedding day is one of the sweetest moments. It is one of those moments where you truly realize how loved you are, and by how many. A book filled with not only signatures, but kind wishes, sage advice, and memories galore! I recommend having a guest book at every wedding, especially unique ones! Having a guest book with a spine and lots of turning pages is classic and we adore it, but if you’re looking to get extra creative, we have some recommendations below!
PHOTO BOOTH OR POLAROID ALBUM
This one is so fun! Photo booths have been the main attraction at wedding receptions for a while now. They often come with fun props and cool backgrounds so that you can turn into a character and immortalize that magical time. Well, this idea was loved so much that we thought, why not turn it into a guest book! Snap a picture at the photo booth or take a selfie with a polaroid camera, paste it, sign it and you’re done! The bride and groom not only get to see your sweet signatures but your sweet smiling faces as well.
SIGNATURE JENGA
This guest book idea is for all classic game lovers. If you’re a couple that enjoys game nights with your friends, this one is for you! Each guest picks a blank Jenga piece and signs it. How adorable! After the wedding, each time you play, you will be reminded of how lovely that night was. Make sure to be careful and don’t let your piece be the one that tumbles…JENGA!
SIGNATURE TREE (SCRAPBOOK FORMAT OR PHYSICAL TREE FORMAT)
This one is so cute and symbolic. Trees represent growth, strength, and time, which is very much like a marriage. For this nature-themed guest book, each guest signs a leaf or a card. You can either stick the signed item onto a drawn tree in a book or frame or hang it on a physical tree. Both options are beautiful.
MESSAGE IN A “BOTTLE”
Ahoy! This theme can absolutely be aquatic or not! Each guest can write their signature or a cute note to place in a bottle or any carrier of their choice. It can be a bottle, a wooded box, a basket, or any other carrier that you and your spouse find endearing. It’s so fun to open the carrier after the wedding and unroll each note.
QUILT
For all you blanket lovers, this guest book theme is the one for you! It's cozy, creative, and super sentimental. Quilt patches are provided. Feel free to sign, note, or draw on them! The more unique the better. The patches will be collected and made into the most loving quilt around. So, grab the popcorn and your wedding video because this quilt is ready to be used.
SIGNATURE PICTURE FRAMES
Talk about a wedding frame that no one will have. This guestbook idea is straightforward. A picture of the bride and groom is framed with wood, Plexiglas, chalkboard, matte, or any preferred material. You guessed it; you sign the frame. With this idea, a picture is worth a thousand words, literally and figuratively.
FRAMED WEDDING GUESTBOOK WITH SIGNED WOODEN HEARTS INSIDE
Okay, so this guest book idea may seem like the one before it but it's slightly different and in a super cute way. Instead of writing on the frame, the frame has an opening at the top. You grab a cute wooden heart, sign it and place it in the opening at the top, in which it slides down. The hearts pile and grow creating a sea of heartfelt signatures. The end result is hearts within a frame. Couples will want to hang this up in their entryway! It can also be a fun little treasure hunt to find your heart each time you visit the bride and groom!
AUDIO GUEST BOOK
Written words and photographs are incredibly special qualities to see in wedding guest books and we hope to see more! Can you imagine something even more intimate? We’ll give you a hint…spoken word.
The newest and most highly desired guest book idea is audio recordings on vintage-style phones. Guests can pick up the phone, leave a voicemail for the married couple, then hang up and that sweet voice “signature” will be stored on a digital file attached to a link for the bride and groom to listen to endlessly.
The process is easy. You rent the phone for your wedding. Have the wedding. Return the phone and 2 to 6 weeks later you will get high-definition, quality recordings attached to a link (usually as an mp3 file) that you can listen to on most technology devices.
We love this idea so much because one, it’s unique, and two, sometimes it is difficult to describe how happy you are for someone when you have a limited amount of space to write. With these audio recording devices, most companies offer unlimited recording time, and the ones that do have limits offer 1000 minutes (16 hours) of audio space. It is so comforting to hear the voices of the people that you love and care about (that’s why we keep all our voicemails - even when the box is full), and it is even more special to hear those voices on the most beautiful day of your lives!
SIGNATURE CHAMPAGNE BOTTLES
There is lots of celebrating at a wedding reception, and with celebrations often come lots of champagne! Why not use those champagne bottles as your guestbook? Have a drink, sign a bottle, and see the collection grow! Empty bottles can also be turned into art pieces like a champagne chandelier!
SIGNATURE GLOBE OR MAP
Do you have wanderlust but not sure where to go after your wedding? A signature globe or map as your guest book could inspire you! Not only is this idea unique but it is also a great conversation starter. Guests can pick their favorite places they’ve traveled to that they think you will love and sign their name. It’ll be so fun for you and your spouse to explore…on the map or in real life!
CLASSIC GUEST BOOK
We cannot forget the classics! A traditional guestbook will always be dreamy. Guests love to get creative with this traditional idea. We see lots of signatures, notes, inside jokes, and pictures inside and outside the margins! Some upside-down or sideways and it looks amazing every time. A classic guestbook is like a novel written by all your favorite authors.
These are just a few of our favorite guest book ideas at Exclusive Planning and Management. Your guest book can be anything you want it to be. Feel free to think outside the box and make it as personalized as you want. After all, it is a piece of your wedding that you can keep forever, look back upon and reminisce.
